RING NAME: Jason Fox
REAL NAME: Jason Fox
HEIGHT: 6'3"
WEIGHT: 225 lbs.
HOMETOWN: Cleveland, Ohio
DATE OF BIRTH: February 10, 1984
ALIGNMENT: Heel
WRESTLING STYLE: All-around with an emphasis on brawling and high flying techniques.
APPEARANCE/RING ATTIRE: Fox is young and attractive. He has short blond curly hair and blue eyes. He wears black pants to the ring with FOX running down the right leg. He has two tattoos: the Chinese symbol for 'Fox' on the right arm and a merged JF on the left. The JF also adorns the left leg of his pants.
ENTRANCE MUSIC: 'Epic' - Faith No More
RING ENTRANCE (keep it brief, we are a big budget fed so there can be some pyro and lighting effects - the jumbo screen is known as the EMPIREtron): As the opening notes of 'Epic' hit the sound system, the words "21st Century Fox" light up the EMPIREtron. Jason Fox stands at the ramp, his arms outstretched and awaiting praise from his nonexistent fans. He soaks in the boos as he struts confidently to the ring.
HISTORY: Jason Fox was bitten by the wrestling bug at an early age, influenced by his older brothers and their obsession with everything going on in the squared circle. As his two brothers' obsessions waned, though, Jason still found himself transfixed with every broadcast, every pay-per-view, and every Cleveland-area house show. His parents' attempts at stopping him from what they called "mind-rot television" were all in vain. Friends would tape shows and he'd watch them when no one was around.
By twelve, his mind was made up. He was going to be a professional wrestler, and he would do whatever was possible to become one.
His first opportunity inside the ring was at the age of fifteen. His friends had organized a backyard wrestling group, and Fox jumped at the chance to be involved. In his first match, he jumped off of a tree branch, using it as a makeshift turnbuckle, was driven face first into a wall, and was accidentally thrown through a sliding glass door. He was hospitalized and subsequently grounded for three months for "a serious lapse of judgment." The day he was able to socialize, he had helped start up a new backyard federation.
At the same time, Fox was busy on gym mats, learning the ropes of amateur wrestling. He was a middleweight on the varsity team in every year of his high school career, amassing a very good record against his peers. His parents were thrilled that their son had found a more positive outlet for his love of wrestling, but Jason was busy leading his double life, learning the fundamentals of both ground and aerial attacks for future use.
Jason saw college as an opportunity to get away from his family and train for pro wrestling in his spare time. While at college in Columbus, the young man learned the ropes at a regional wrestling school, the Buckeye Wrestling Alliance. The head trainer, Bob Loblaw, liked the youngster's willingness to learn and his raw abilities. He was signed on immediately and cast by the BWA's bookers as "The Student," a cocky heel that would watch his upcoming opponents wrestle, take notes, and then interfere and get them a loss, usually by hitting them with a laptop. The fans loved to hate "The Student," and he spent a lot of his time in college with the company's belt around its waist.
Upon graduation, Jason could no longer keep the secret from his parents. He announced his intentions to enter the world of professional wrestling for real, to become a superstar and a champion.
His parents stopped talking to him almost immediately.
Did it hurt? Yes.
Did he regret doing it? Not in a million years.
MOVESET (choose between 10-25): Cleveland Crab (Boston Crab), Five Star Frog Splash, Supernova (Top Rope Frankensteiner), DDT, Reverse DDT, Running Lariat, Full Nelson Slam, Chickenwing Slam, Cleveland Clutch, Outfoxer (running vertebreaker), Top-rope dropkick, 360 Body Splash, Shooting Star Press
SETUP MOVE: Cleveland Steamer
DESCRIPTION: Fox runs at top speed, delivering a flying knee to the face of his opponent. This usually isn't enough to knock his opponent down, but it does daze him enough for him to deliver the Starburst.
FINISHING MOVE: The Starburst
DESCRIPTION: With his opponent very close to the corner, Jason runs up the turnbuckles, grabs his adversary's neck, leaps, and delivers a facelock jawbreaker (otherwise known as a Stone Cold Stunner), dropping his opponent to the mat.

SAMPLE ROLEPLAY (doesn't have to be for the character you're applying as): (This isn't a roleplay, per se. It's a segment from SWC's inaugural show that I wrote. SWC was my most recent fed, my first fed in years, and it closed one week in. My roleplays were deleted, and this was all I was able to save. Regardless, it should show some of my writing ability.)
Outfoxing The Competition
Emily Summers’ heels click as she walks down a cement hallway backstage at the Silverdome. Always on the job when a camera is around, she drags the entire audience around as she searches for any wrestler participating in the battle royal for the TV Title.
Every room she passes has its door shut tight. Every corridor is empty. Every table with food or drink has been abandoned; the hallways are a virtual ghost town. She turns to the camera and stammers, disappointed at the words that pass through her lips. “It looks like everybody in the main event is locked up tight in their dressing rooms.”
“Hey!”
Emily shoots her head to the left. “Ah, here we go. Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to introduce you to one of the bright young faces of the Superstar Wrestling Circuit, one of our competitors in tonight’s main event, Jason Fox!”
The crowd cheers only ever so softly as Fox walks into view of the camera. He runs his hand through his hair and shows slight evidence of a grin. He’s still in his street clothes, a Rocket from the Tombs t-shirt and a pair of wrinkled jeans.
“It's Emily, right?”
“Yes, Jason. Do you want to tell the audience a little about your self?”
“Where are my manners? As Emily has already told you, I’m Jason Fox, and I’m pretty sure that by the end of the night, I’ll be acquainted with each and every one of you as your first ever sWc TV Champion.”
Emily chuckles. “That’s pretty big talk there, Jason. I mean, nobody here has ever seen you wrestle. What makes you think you can beat the other six men in the battle royal tonight?”
“Well, Emily, I don’t think I can beat the other guys.” He stops; the crowd digests his words. “I know I can beat them. It’s as simple as that. I’ve got the training, I’ve got the pedigree, and I’ve got the ability to beat anyone I step in the ring with. Even more importantly though, I’ve got this.” He taps a finger on his forehead. “Doesn’t matter if he’s eight feet tall and 500 pounds or a damn midget. I always have a plan ready. By the time this match is done and my arm is raised in victory, everybody back here in the lockers and everybody in the seats and everybody watching at home are going to know two undeniable truths: that I am the best thing going here in sWc and that I am the future of this business -- the 21st Century Fox!”
The crowd isn’t really sure what to make of the young man standing before them. Some are booing heartily at his brazen statements but there’s still a certain sense of intrigue in the air. Jason pauses, but as Emily takes back the microphone to speak, he immediately takes back control.
“And believe me, Summers, I’m very, very careful with my words. When I say things like that, I mean it. I’ve got what it takes to back up what I just said. You’re going to see that tonight and you’re going to see that every single night that I’m on the card. Starting right here and right now, when people think the letters ‘S’, ‘W’, and ‘C’ they will immediately think of ‘F’, ‘O’, and ‘X’. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m gonna go get dressed. A legend has to look the part.” Jason crosses past the camera and walks toward his locker room. Emily has a look of surprise on her face. She searches for the words.
“...Well, ladies and gentlemen, bold statements from the young Jason Fox! Hopefully, he backs up those words tonight, but there are six other competitors looking to make a liar out of the self-proclaimed future of the business. Stay tuned!”
